About Lairmont Manor

Kiara & Zach got married at the historic and dreamy Lairmont Manor in Bellingham, Washington last June. The two fell in love with this venue due to its rich history and beautiful architecture. Lairmont Manor was built in 1914 for the Larrabee Family. Chuck Larrabee co-founded Fairhaven, and this incredible building was his dream home. Over the last 100+ years, this building has hosted so many celebrations and important events. To be a part of that history by getting married there is so special. Wedding Planning Inspiration from Kiara & Zach

Kiara & Zach described their perfect wedding day as “ full of joy, laughter, sweet moments together, and time with our all-time favorite people” and from Zach seeing Kiara for the first time with tears in his eyes as she walked down the aisle, wedding parties in high spirits with the best, giggliest attitudes, to heart-shaped pizzas & heartfelt toasts — I’d say we accomplished all of those things. By the end of the night when Kiara & Zach had their last dance, there wasn’t a dry eye in the room. Even looking back through this gallery to select photos for this blog post, I started crying again. The night ended with everyone crowding in on the dancefloor to hug Zach & Kiara, with tears streaming down their faces. I have never experienced anything quite like it.

If you’re wondering how these types of special moments happen, it’s by intentionally planning every detail. It’s by including things special to your relationship like a choreographed dance or your important to people reading poetry during your ceremony. It’s by thinking about each section of the day and asking yourself, “What feels most authentic to us?”. You don’t have to do all the traditional things if they make you uncomfortable.

Kiara and Zach had monthly wedding planning dates & put so much care into planning the day of their dreams. Wedding days go by so quickly and Kiara & Zach planned every detail knowing they wanted to be present and soak it all in. A few posed, traditional portraits to hang on their walls were important, but the emphasis was really on the candid, more documentary-style moments — just capturing the day exactly as it happened. Quality time with their most important people was the priority, and that shows in the photos. I knew when to step in if they needed something, but most of the day I hung back and watched in awe knowing how precious and cherished these memories will be someday.
