Jardin Del Sol is a dreamy garden venue in Snohomish, Washington, where Jessica & I grew up. We went to high school together, and what a gift it’s been to grow closer to these two & capture their love over the years. I took photos of them when I first started taking photography seriously in 2021, I was there for their proposal, we took engagement photos last summer, and now here we are at their wedding. It means the world to me to grow with my couples & become such close friends with them.

Their day was full of thoughtful details, intentional moments, and so much joy. It was a beautiful day, and for spring in Washington, we were so lucky to have overcast skies and not rain.

The details

All of their details were so sweet. I loved it all but felt particularly attached to the special cocktails named after their sweet cats. The two exchanged gifts before their first look, Martín gifted the sweetest photo book and Jess gifted custom cufflinks with Sage & Poet’s faces on them (and yes, I favorited them on Etsy for when it’s my turn haha).

Their close friend built the entire charcuterie wall from scratch & they had a telephone guestbook. The “You Belong Here” on the seating chart gets me teary every time. Jess & Martín have a way of making you feel like you’re the most important person in the room. Their sweet wedding details represent them so well.

The ceremony

Their ceremony started with a mindful moment to ground us in the present. The two selected a poem to read to each other, since they shared their vows privately during their first look, and each of their closest people got to hold the rings before they placed them on each other’s fingers. They ensured their guests felt included, involved, and loved, even during a moment that is all about them.

Warming of the Rings

Their rings were sealed in a cute drawstring bag and passed through their wedding party & the first row of immediate family. Each of their closest people held their rings & poured their love into them, before being placed on Jessica & Martín’s fingers.

Another example of how these two make everyone feel so included — Jess went around twirling everyone on the dance floor (including me!!) and it was such a special day for two special people. Getting to witness days like these will never get old & I’ll choose being a photographer over a guest any day. Jess & Martín, I adore you so much.
