Shannon & Jakob chose to have their ceremony at an airbnb on Chuckanut Drive with their closest friends and family before heading to Aslan Depot for their reception later.

Shan got ready in a room with a view of Bellingham Bay, and Jakob was just across the way from her. Down the hall, loved ones were mingling—eagerly awaiting the ceremony. The deck outside overlooks a view that is so iconically Bellingham—a view that feels like home. A view that feels like the perfect place to get married.

From the moment Shan began walking down the aisle, there was not a dry eye anywhere. The way Shan & Jakob love their people is so palpable. There had been happy tears all day long—but to see everyone crying together for these two was pretty powerful to witness. (As a wedding photographer, getting to see the impact you have on your loved ones is one of my favorite things).

After the ceremony there was a toast from their best friend’s son (more tears!!), and then we were off to the Depot!

Shannon left the cute bartender at Aslan her number one night and the rest is history. Jakob is now the general manager, and this place has become a home away from home for them. Even our initial meet up was at the Depot and we chatted for hours. When it came time to plan and chat about wedding details, we met at the Depot one more time. By the time of their wedding, it felt like another home to me, too. The whole day was absolutely perfect for these two & I feel so lucky to now call them my friends.
